I AM researching my family history and would like to hear from any descendants of Lizzie Evans (nee Cooper) and her husband William James (Bill) Evans.
Lizzie was the older sister of my father, Fred Archie Cooper.
They ran Evans Garage at 7 Load Street, Bewdley (now Dillons newsagents) in the 1920s/30s and before that they had a fish and chip shop further up Load Street.
They had two children, Harold (married Jenny Nellis), a daughter Joan (about 1922), and Martha, who married Robert Dudley in 1928.
The Dudleys had a transport business at Rock during the 1930s/40s. They had a son, Brian, (born about 1930), who went to Canada, and a daughter, born around 1945.
Lizzie died in December 1930, aged 55, and her husband died in December 1940.
They are both buried at Ribbesford churchyard.
My father's older sister, Harriet Cooper, was for many years housekeeper at Redthorne Hotel or guesthouse in High Street, Bewdley, which is now a home for the elderly.
She later lived in the almshouses, also in High Street, and died in 1954 aged 73.
I would very much like to hear from any descendants of the Evans or Dudley families still living in the district, with a view to exchanging information/photographs etc - or from anyone who may have known the family.
