A STEVE Mares double helped Bewdley Town to a welcome three Banks's Brewery League Division One South points in a 4-0 win at Pershore Reserves.
The visitors began well and took the lead when Grant Gibbs rounded the goalkeeper after being put clear by Mares.
They went two up before the break when a fine Gavin Smith cross was headed home by Mares.
Bewdley went three ahead a minute into the second half when, from the kick-off, Mares' through ball was taken by Gibbs who was felled in the area.
Gary Middleton made no mistake with the penalty before Mares scored the best goal of the game.
After a fine move involving Neil Turford and Paul Field, Mares slotted in from an acute angle.
Bewdley have two matches left against Lye and Brintons.
