FIREFIGHTERS of the future proudly completed the first section of their basic training in front of friends and family on Saturday.
A passing out parade was held at the town's fire station, off Saltway, for Young Firefighter Association (YFA) members.
Twenty-one teenagers showed off a series of drills they learned during training.
There are only a few similar groups in the county and organisers hope to welcome more new recruits in September. Youngsters meet once a week.
YFA member Lee Freeman, of Kidderminster, told the Advert-iser the parade went without a hitch.
The 16-year-old said: "It was great for family members and friends to see the group in action and a number of dignitaries attended including the mayor, Don Lawley.
"The group has really bonded since we formed last year.
"There is a very lively atmosphere and we have lots of fun."
Lee added: "I want to become a firefighter but the YFA is not a back door entrance to the brigade - it is an opportunity to gain experience."
