A CHARITY soccer match in aid of Kidderminster rock legend Clifford T Ward is expected to raise more than £4,000.
More than 1,000 people attended the game at the Harriers' Aggborough ground. The event saw a team led by Kidderminster Harriers' boss Jan Molby beat a rival side 11-2.
Those taking part included ex-Kidderminster team players Kim Casey, Paul Davies and Neil Cartwright, as well as Judas Priest guitarist Glen Tipton.
Half of the cash was raised by a sale of pop memorabilia and the money will go to help the 56-year-old who suffers from multiple sclerosis.
Mr Ward, who had a top ten hit, Gaye, in 1973, now lives in Stockton-on-Teme, near Tenbury Wells.
