AN FA Cup final day football match in memory of two tragic Wolverley friends was so successful it is set to become an annual event.
Lee Antcliff's Saturday team, Lock FC, played his Sunday team Stourport Town at noon on Saturday in memory of the 23-year-old - who died in a car crash in November - and his best friend Richard Carrington, who was killed in a crash in March.
Organiser Mitch Rickson, a friend of Lee's, said the game was watched by about 200 spectators, including the families of both young men, and the collection for County Air Ambulance had been "very successful".
Stourport Town beat Mr Rickson's team Lock 3-2 in a "very entertaining game".
"It was played in the best of spirits with no bad tackles," he said.
"After the way it went on Saturday, it is likely to become an annual event - it was such an enjoyable day. And we want to get our own back on Stourport next year!"
Mr Rickson said he was still counting the money that had been collected and that people could still make donations by calling him on 01562 852312.
