THE sky is the limit for a Kidderminster man who has graduated as a RAF officer in his bid to become a jet fighter pilot.
Ben Plank has graduated after completing six months' training at RAF College Cranwell, Lincolnshire.
The 22-year-old's success comes after he gained a RAF scholarship when he was 17 before he went to Reading University. He combined his studies with three years of initial training at the nearby Oxford University Air Squadron base.
And now Ben, of Sanderling Court, Spennells,is waiting to begin his basic fast jet training at a course in Yorkshire before he can learn to fly tornado and jaguar jets on the frontline.
The former Spennells Primary and Kings School Worcester pupil said: "Becoming a jet fighter pilot has been an ambition of mine since I was nine.
"It is brilliant to be so close but I realise I still have a lot of hard work to put in."
He added: "I was learning things ranging from airpower to flying discipline. If all goes well in Yorkshire I'm all set for the front line in two years."
