COMPUTER buffs could soon be able to see Bewdley live on the internet if new town mayor Carol Gittins has her way.
Mrs Gittins will take over from Bill Mason at Bewdley Town Council's annual meeting tomorrow - following in the footsteps of her husband Paul, who was mayor in 1999.
And the 51-year-old has cited setting up a live Bewdley web camera, and arranging for civic marriages to be held in the town hall, as two of her aims in the coming year.
Mrs Gittins, who is set to follow up her appointment as mayor by bec-oming a grandmother when daughter Jayne gives birth in July, has selec-ted Dial-a-Ride and Age Conc-ern's minibus fund as her mayoral charities.
As well as being on the service committee of the Royal British Legion, Mrs Gittins describes herself as a "very active member" of the carnival committee.
She has been a Labour town councillor for Bewdley for three years and works part-time as a sweet chef in the Mulberry Restaurant in the Market Place.
Mrs Gittins hails from Kidder-minster and has been married to fellow town councillor Paul for 31 years. He has been "passing on lots of advice" for the coming year.
"With him already having been there I'm not so much in the dark," said Mrs Gittins.
