CHILDREN'S ARTS AND CRAFTS GROUP: Almost all our members returned to our group after the April break. We are using African Art and Crafts for our theme in May and June, covering practice geometric paintings, then painting their design on to mugs. They will be doing freehand painting designs on T-shirts in the African culture of telling their everyday lives in art. We will also be doing African dancing and learning an African song. The children will learn to tie-dye scarves to use in the dancing and traditional African masks will be made too. A few African recipes will be tried by the children too and over the next few weeks the girls will make peg dolls and the boys doll's house furniture from clothes pegs. Mosaics are also on the programme. This theme will end at the end of June with an African evening.
