Resolutions for the intermediate meeting - an adequate school nursing service, and training to prevent abuse of the elderly in care homes - produced much discussion.
Afterwards there was a tasting of members' favourite foods, including fruit cake, tea bread, flan and desserts.
President Sylvia Beardshaw urged members to join this month's litter collection.
The next meeting will be at Bluntington Methodist Hall at 7.30pm on June 6, when a representative from St John Ambulance will give a first aid demonstration.
