VOTERS in the Vale go to the polls on June 7 - which is also the date for the General Election - to elect members to Worcestershire County Council.
All 57 of the council's seats are being contested, with eight of them in the Vale.
Below are details of local wards and candidates. The current composition of the council is: Conservatives 25; Labour 21; Liberal Democrats 8; Others 3.
BOWBROOK
Margaret Alexandra Rowley (Liberal Democrat)
Margaret is the Liberal Democrats' leader on Wychavon District Council and chairman of Droitwich Canals Trust. She has lived in Tibberton for 12 years. She is interested in rural services.
Edward John Sheldon (Conservative)
Edward, who is married, has represented the Bowbrook division of the county council since 1985 and has served on major committees. He has served local government in Shropshire and Worcestershire for 32 years and is a member of the West Midlands Regional Chamber. He is a past chairman of the West Midlands Conservative Political Centre.

BREDON
Adrian Ingleby Hardman (Conservative)
Aged 44, Adrian lives in Bredon and is married with two children. He is a governor of Bredon Hill Middle and Eckington schools and a parish councillor. He works for the BBC and has also worked in private industry and agriculture. He is shadow portfolio holder for council resources and is sitting candidate for the ward.
Denis John Haugh (Liberal Democrat)
Denis lives in Kinsham, near Bredon. Qualified in law, he is a chartered secretary and worked in business in senior management jobs overseas for several years until he was the victim of a serious cycling accident. Now recovered, he has resumed his business interests, making use of the internet.
Ross Lucas Hayman (Labour)
Ross is married, with two children and lives at Bricklehampton. He is communications director with the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) in Cheltenham and previously worked as a press officer for the Labour party. He is treasurer of Pershore Labour Party and vice-chairman of Overbury First School.
BROADWAY
Brian Chilver (Labour)
Aged 67, Brian is married with three children and has lived in the Vale for 40 years. He is a graduate of Cambridge and spent 30 years as a senior executive with IBM and has worked in national and international marketing business management. He is involved with Evesham Civic Society.
Elizabeth Ann Eyre (Conservative)
Elizabeth settled in Broadway in 1996 and has known the area, through family, since 1970. She had a multinational career in the finance and computer industry, followed by a five-year spell as her mother's carer. She works part-time as a journalist and researcher/lecturer. She is a trustee of the Lifford Hall and runs Broadway Wine Society.
John McLeod (Liberal Democrat)
John has lived in Aston Somerville since 1988 and is married with two daughters. He was a business consultant for several years but is now administrative manager of a local plant nursery. He is a governor of Prince Henry's High School.
EVESHAM HAMPTON
Diana Clare Brown (Liberal Democrat)
Diana is 54 and married and has lived in the area for 11 years. She works as a manager in higher education in Cheltenham and takes an active part in a family horticulture business based in Offenham. She was a district councillor for Evesham South from 1995 - 1999.
Terence Gregson (Labour)
Terence, who is married with four children and two grandchildren, is a chartered environmental health officer and member of the Institute of Management. He comes to Evesham from his previous role as director of community services for Blackpool Borough Council, where his remit included libraries, tourism, waste management, trading standards, housing and cultural services.
John Hyde Smith (Conservative)
Hampton born and bred, John is married with two daughters and is retired. A county, district and town councillor, he is a former mayor of Evesham, a trustee of John Martin's charity, Wallace House and Hampton educational charity and chairs Evesham's twinning association. He is a governor of Evesham High School.
EVESHAM TOWN
Clive Gill Holt (Conservative)
Clive has served as a county councillor for 16 years, as a district councillor for 10 years and regularly attends Harvington and Norton and Lenchwick Parish Council meetings. He is a governor of Prince Henry's High School and Bengeworth CE First School. He is vice-chairman of Evesham Arts Centre and past chairman of Vale Volunteer Centre.
Elizabeth Anne Nunn (Liberal Democrat)
Elizabeth has a BSc(Hons) degree and is joint owner of a business in Harvington. She has been a parish councillor and Wychavon district councillor. A member of Harvington Baptist Church, she is closely associated with the Youth Project and is a governor of Harvington First School.
Stephen Joseph Selby (Labour)
Stephen is married to Jacqui and they have four daughters. He was mayor of Evesham between 1993-95 and chairman of Wychavon District Council in 1997-98. He has been a governor of Bengeworth School and is on the board of the Evesham and Pershore Housing Association (EPHA).
INKBERROW
David Reginald Lane (Conservative)
David, is a livestock farmer at Upton Snodsbury and chairman of two Worcester companies. He has been a governor of Upton Snodsbury First School and is chairman of Upton Snodsbury Parish Council.
Elizabeth Boyns Tucker (Liberal Democrat)
Elizabeth is married and lives in Throckmorton. Before that, she was a personnel officer with a major American company. She was elected to the county council in 1981 and is deputy council leader and portfolio holder for culture and community. She has a long association with Herefordshire and Worcestershire Community Council and represents Upton Snodsbury on Wychavon District Council.
PERSHORE TOWN
Brian Malcolm Bremer (Liberal Democrat)
Brian lives in Pershore and is married with two children. He worked in the NHS for 27 years, most recently as a community nurse specialising in mental health issues with children, before taking early retirement last year. He is a volunteer driver with the Pershore Voluntary Centre and an allotment holder.
Richard Hampton (Conservative)
Richard spent his career in the RAF and eight years running a youth training scheme for an area including Pershore. He has been a governor of Pershore High School for 20 years and is a member of the Royal British Legion and Rotary. He is a Wychavon district councillor, Pershore town councillor and the mayor elect.
Ema Elizabeth Kirbyson (Labour)
Ema is married with two children and has lived in Pershore since 1984. She is the town's area youth worker, a former pupil of Pershore High School and is on the town's carnival committee. She is a founder member of Striving Against Drugs (SAD).
David Michael Shaw (Green)
David represents St Andrew's ward on Pershore Town Council. He is the town's public transport representative and public footpaths officer and a member of Pershore Tourism Association. He has lived in Pershore for 21 years. He is projects officer for the charity BTCV and chairs Vale Landscape Heritage Trust and Pershore and District Film Society.
Victor John Smith, Independent: John is a lifelong resident of Pershore. He represents the town on the county council and has been a Wychavon district councillor since 1974. He has been a town councillor for more than 50 years and been mayor three times.
The Littletons
Thomas James Bean (Liberal Democrat)
Thomas is a lifelong resident of the Vale and is married with four grown-up children. He has been a district councillor for Honeybourne and Pebworth since 1995 and county councillor for The Littletons since 1997. He is a governor of Blackminster School and Evesham High School.
Richard Lasota (Conservative)
Richard, a shopkeeper for 23 years, has been a district councillor for 18 years. He and wife, Sue, have three children. He was a governor of Blackminster School for six years and has sat on Offenham, South Littleton and Cleeve Prior Parish Councils.
Sharon Ann Summers (Independent)
Sharon has lived in Pebworth all her life and has been a member of the village's parish council for the past six years. She does voluntary work at Broadway police station. She runs the Neighbourhood Watch scheme in Pebworth.
