EVESHAM archers were again to the fore when Worcestershire triumphed over Gloucestershire on Sunday in the inter-county match hosted by the club at Badsey.
Tim Haines took the honours in the junior gents' Olympic bow section with an excellent 1056 Bristol 3, while Helen Gath was third junior lady.
Russell Wakely notched up a fine 1120 Hereford and was the top under-18 compound archer.
Shooting the York round starting at 100 yards, European Compound Bow champion Simon Tarplee recorded 1224 with 110 golds to lead the field by a clear 56 points.
In the ladies' Olympic bow competition, Barbara Stanway compiled a 976 Hereford to claim second, while Linda Haines (972) secured third.
Malcolm Porter added a 947 York to take the Worcestershire total to 18349 against 17533.
