Hornets 43,
Evesham B 31
A SLIPPERY surface hindered both teams and led to a low tempo match as caution proved the watchword.
Sharon Hunt dominated early on for Evesham in her new role in the centre, following on from her player of the match efforts at wing defence in her previous outing.
Hunt combined well with captain Kathy Durrant as accurate balls were fed into the shooting circle but it was Evesham who fund themselves four goals down at the interval.
Hornets stepped up a gear to increase their advantage in the third period as their strong defence proved a tough nut to crack despite some spirited attacking thrusts.
Jennings and Roberts continued to work hard but the height of the opposition shooter left Evesham almost helpless in defence and her goals proved the difference in a tight game.
Defensive play in and around centre court earned wing defence Caroline Owens the player of the match vote.
