MALVERN Town entertain Walsall Wood at Langland Stadium in the Banks's Brewery League Premier Division on Saturday (3pm) for their final home game of the season.

Town will be looking to avenge a shock 4-1 defeat they suffered at the hands of the visitors last October and will also be looking for the three points that could confirm sixth place.

The match is one in which they will looking to give a number of their younger players an opportunity to impress and included in the squad for the first time is 16 year old striker Lee Hooper.

Hooper who has impressed for both reserves and youth teams this season, is given the opportunity to gain some first team experience and follows on the back of 17 year old Barry McClean's debut in goal against Little Drayton last Saturday and Neil Mogford's appearance from the bench in the same game. McClean and Mogford are also named in Saturday's squad.

Matt Upton and Paul Dugdale who have impressed in extended first team runs in recent weeks will also feature again as will Dave Cannon and Pete Sollis.

Town Assistant Manager Richard Anson said, "It is no good us investing heavily in youth and reserve structures, if we do not give the better younger players the opportunity, when the chance arrives.

"Of course we want to win our remaining games and finish as high as possible, but it is also an ideal time to get these kids involved.

"Certainly, Matt and Paul have proved that they have got what it takes and will be very much part of our plans for next season and there is no reason why the others can't too.

"Against Little Drayton, who look likely to finish third and are perhaps the form team in the league at the moment, I thought they all acquitted themselves very well and we were unlucky not to win."

Town will be missing Phil Slade and Adam Ward who are both on holiday, but Steve Walker, Chris Thomas and Andy Shepherd, who all missed the Little Drayton game, come back into contention.

Walsall Wood have had an indifferent season, but look to have staved off any threat of relegation by picking up four points during last week.

Town boss Joey Rawle will select from: McClean, Sanders, Higgins, Dugdale, Cotterill, Damore, Clayton, Davies, Walker, Phillpotts, Upton, Mogford, Thomas, Cannon, Sollis, Hooper and Shepherd.

Town's final game of the season is the local derby at Bromyard next Thursday, kick-off is 7.45pm.

This might not prove any ordinary end of season game as Bromyard, who have had a difficult first Premier Division season, will be keen to score a victory over Town, particularly as Malvern boss Joey Rawle, is a former manager of his home town club.

Also included in the Malvern side will be ex Bromyard player Sean Davies.

Last week the Youth team defeated Harrow Hill to consolidate their place in the Midland Youth League, but on Monday went down to Topsley Pegasus 3-0 in the semi final of the Herefordshire FA Youth Cup.

The Youth Team wind up their season when Alveston are the visitors (7.45pm) on Tuesday.
