THE Green 1st XI continued their bad start to the season when they lost by 106 runs to Romsley in this Worcestershire League Division Two game at North End Lane on Saturday.
BARNARDS GREEN 1ST XI v ROMSLEY 1ST XI
The Green won the toss and put Romsley in to bat and at 32-2 off 16 overs things looked good for the Green but when Lennon came to the wicket the run rate increased. At close Romsley were 203-8, Lennon finishing one short of his century. Clark 3-46 off 14 overs and Creese 3-66 off 15 overs and a fine off spinning spell from Scullion were the pick of the Green's attack.
The Green lost James Marriott early on and that started wickets falling at regular intervals. Only Tim Clarke (22) and Martin Heaton (15) looked comfortable against the Romsley bowling attack. Bray did the damage taking 5-19 off just nine overs. At close the Green were 97 all out.
The Green wish to thank Malvern Instruments for sponsoring the game.
