MALVERN Athletic found themselves well and truly beaten last Saturday morning in this Midland Combination Division Two league encounter away at third placed Wilmcote.
WILMCOTE S & S FC 7, MALVERN ATHLETIC 0
The visitors found themselves 0-3 by half time and their performance was one of the worst this season.
The second half was not much better with the heat taking its toll on the Malvern Athletic side who looked completely out of their depth and Wilmcote could have well scored more than four goals in the second period.
After the match assistant Dave Ilsley said "We do have a couple of players carrying injuries, but that is no excuse for some of the performances that we have seen this morning. Especially after some of the good performances in the last few weeks, today's performance is completely unacceptable. The players have let themselves down and they must take the full blame for that showing."
Malvern Athletic play their last three remaining league matches in the next five days. Tomorrow (Saturday) they will entertain Earlswood Town at Victoria Park, kick off 2.45pm, then on Monday they will travel to Kenilworth Wardens with a 7.15pm kick off. The final match will be played on Wednesday evening when they will entertain Droitwich Spa at Victoria Park (7.15pm).
