A REVELLER at a Worcester nightclub was rushed to Ronkswood Hospital at the weekend after she went into labour in the club's toilets.

The blonde woman, believed to be in her early 20s, had been in Images, in The Butts, with a group of friends when the drama began in the early hours of Sunday.

One shocked clubber described how she had gone to the toilets and saw the woman surrounded by friends before the ambulance arrived.

"They were all fussing over something," said the clubber, who asked not to be named. "It appeared this girl had gone into labour. 'Oh my God, she's going to have a baby' they were saying.

"She was sitting on the toilet with the door open and five or six friends crowded in the doorway. She was puffing away."

The witness said that, when she left Images around 20 minutes later, the woman was still in the ladies.

"An ambulance was called and the girl was brought down from the toilets and taken to hospital and that is all we know," said Images employee Dick Collins, who was working in the cloakroom at the time.

"This is the first time anything like this has happened here, as far as I'm aware."

A Hereford and Worcester Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed the callout at around 1.10 yesterday morning and said a crew took one person from Images to Ronkswood Hospital.
