YOUNG members of the Stourport district Guide movement have raised almost £1,000 for children's charity ChildLine after a series of events.
During the past 12 months Rainbows, Brownies and Guides from Stourport, Wilden and Hartlebury have held cricket and rounders matches, fun days, discos, tea parties and walks to help the 24-hour freephone helpline for distressed children.
ChildLine area fund-raiser Eric Kent, based at the British Sugar site in Kidderminster, said: "This has been a terrific effort from everyone concerned and everyone at ChildLine is grateful and thrilled to be associated with such super young people.
"The money raised will be used to help more children get through to the comfort, advice and protection of a ChildLine counsellor."
Stourport district commissioner Geraldine Sunderland, who appealed for more adult helpers to join the Guiding Association, said: "We are very proud of what the youngsters have achieved."
Adults interested in helping can contact Mrs Sunderland on 01562 631452.
