WORCESTER'S bid to make Ben Clarke their new player-coach moved forward today when Bath announced the former England star's departure from the Recreation Ground.
Clarke, capped 40 times by England, has yet to announce his future plans, but Worcester owner Cecil Duckworth has already contacted the flanker about a move to Sixways as a replacement for Adrian Skeggs.
He said: "I have had two great spells at the club, and have thoroughly enjoyed playing for Bath.
"I am sorry to leave, but I am looking forward to whatever the future may hold."
Clarke's last game for Bath was the Zurich play-off final against Leicester nine days ago, and he is currently on tour with the Barbarians.
"Ben has been a stalwart and a great servant to the club," said Bath coach Jon Callard.
