KIDDERMINSTER Harriers Football Club has scored a hit with fans after becoming the first in the UK to offer free legal expenses insurance to season ticket holders.

The club has teamed up with Kidderminster law firm Morton Fisher Solicitors and Legal Insurance Management Ltd to provide legal protection for season ticket holders, their spouse and children up to the age of 21.

"This ground-breaking move sees Kidderminster Harriers recognising the need to give something back to the regular supporter who has demonstrated financial commitment to the team," said Tim Jones, Morton Fisher partner.

"The package includes free legal advice on all matters via a 24 hour, 365-days-a-year, helpline."

Insurance to pay legal fees for pursuing or defending the individual's legal rights in employment disputes, consumer disputes, personal injury, home rights and tax investigations is also provided up to £25,000.

Free of charge

"We are delighted to be able to offer a real benefit completely free of charge to our supporters in return for their support of the club," said Harriers' chairman Lionel Newton.

"There are many legal issues that an individual faces in life today and these are only likely to increase in number and complexity.

"We are endeavouring to provide our loyal fans with a valuable protection that the majority of them do not currently have."
