I AM writing to express my utter dismay that yet another bar is planned for the town centre on the site of the old cinema.
With the wealth of land which has been made available over the last few years in the town centre, do three big bars and a bingo hall really express the full extent of this council's imagination?
If it is, we need to find out now before the next local elections and vote accordingly.
I cannot imagine what Thornfield think about the plans when they are investing so much money to try to improve Redditch and make it an attractive place to come to and are facing these kind of decisions outside the Kingfisher Centre.
The cinema could have provided a wonderful venue for positive leisure activities for the young people of Redditch but instead, as seems usual with this town's council, money comes first.
Please let there be no complaints in the future about our youth just hanging around the town centre.
What we invest, or in this case do not invest, in our youth is what we will reap. You have been warned!
