GIRL power has taken over a Bromsgrove health club which is training town women for a charity fitness challenge.
LivingWell Bromsgrove, based at the Hilton Hotel, in Birmingham Road, is joining forces with the Imperial Cancer Research Fund to support Race for Life.
The women-only 5km walk or run will take place at Worcester Racecourse on June 17.
LivingWell, which is one of the UK's largest health club operators, is sponsoring the event.
Dozens of club members and staff have already signed up for the event, which aims to attract hundreds of sporty folk hoping to raise money for pioneering research into cancers which affect women.
Bromsgrove club bosses are supporting entrants by offering a tailored training programme for six weeks, to help entrants prepare mentally and physically.
For everyone who takes up the six week deal - LivingWell will donate £5 to Race for Life.
Club manager Chris Kelly said: "This year, Race for Life promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
"We are encouraging all members to enter and we will do as much as we can to raise local awareness of the event.
"The day itself promises to be great fun in aid of a worthwhile cause."
