SAILING: There was a quiet weekend's sailing at Trimpley because many members were competing at the Himley 24 Hour Race.
The Saturday GP14 Series saw Eric and Doreen Grimwood hold off Ray Drury and his crew in both races though Drury took the second race on handicap.
In the Laser class, Frank Edwards beat Colin Hill.
The Sunday Series saw E Grimwood in good form again as he took the Noon Single Handed Race from Rob Ling.
The Noon Handicap was won by Terry Gumbley from Terry Bolton and daughter Alison and the first Sunday Summer Series race saw the Grimwoods beat John Hingley and Janet Cooksey.
In the second race, the first three boats were only 12 seconds apart.
John Hingley and Janet Cooksey beat Jeff Halford and crew Dawn Bradley. Terry Bolton won the handicap race.
There was a good turn-out at the Himley 24 Hour Race over Saturday and Sunday.
Trimpley put out a Laser and GP14 team and were towards the front of the fleet for the entire race.
The GP14 dinghy eventually finished third and the Laser second. Sponsorship money goes towards the RNLI.
