TWO Brooklyn Ford workers spent the night in the slammer at Redditch Police Station after being arrested on Monday - but it was all in a good cause.
Julie Johnson and Sarah Williams aim to raise £5,000 to take part in Macmillan Cancer Relief Drive For Life next month and have raised £913 so far.
The arrest, which took place at Brooklyn Ford Redditch, Battens Drive, was part of several fund-raising activities to enable Mrs Johnson, of Brooklyn Ford Alcester, and Miss Williams, of Brooklyn Rent-a-Ford, Fishing Line Road, and two female colleagues to take part in Drive For Life.
The event, sponsored by Ford, Jaguar and Land Rover, involves teams from dealerships all over the country who will be competing against each other in aid of the cancer charity.
Other fund-raising activities include a car boot sale at Brooklyn's Evesham branch on June 3.
Anyone interested in sponsoring the team can call Miss Williams on 405101.
