AS National Carers' Week nears, a Redditch organisation has planned several events to highlight key issues.
Carers' Careline, based at the Ecumenical Centre in Evesham Walk, is a charity which provides a vital lifeline for vulnerable people and the individuals who tirelessly take care of them.
It has been operating in the town with a group of loyal volunteers for the last 13 years.
On Tuesday, June 12, the group will be holding a "Be nice to carers day" from 10am-2pm.
The programme of events for the day are geared around this year's national theme - the health of the carer.
Topics being discussed during the day include keeping fit, handling stress and tension, and diet, all topped off with a buffet lunch.
On Saturday, June 9, to kick off Carers' Week, the group will be collecting in the town.
A Carers' Careline spokesman said: "If anybody sees us when we are out collecting we would urge then to be as generous as possible.
"Every penny we get from members of the public during this collecting event will go towards providing more services for Redditch's many carers."
