A STOURPORT graduate is passing on her rugby skills as the sport emerges in the USA.
Katy McGowan, 22, is playing scrum-half for Dallas Debutants while on an 18-month YMCA Multinational Leadership training scheme.
McGowan, who used to live in Elan Avenue, played for Stourport, Worcester, Saracens and Richmond in England before heading overseas.
Mum Anne said: "Katy is learning about outdoor education and environmental education and leads the kids on hikes and outdoor activities.
"She also goes into schools to promote the camp she's at. Rugby is up-and-coming in the US and they are very keen.
"She's playing at about English Third Division standard."
McGowan (pictured right) was at Stourport High School before eventually taking a leisure management degree at Buckingham.
