A WORKMAN-like performance from the Saints' rugby league side assured them of their second victory of the season at Finstall Park.
Saints took an early lead when Richard Whitehouse scored with a penalty after six minutes.
Full back Whitehouse then followed up with his first try of the season seven minutes later scoring in the corner from a pass by Brett Toole.
The conversion was missed but Worcester went further ahead when Manny Samra was tackled just short of the line but the Bedford defenders could not prevent Franois Helmer scoring from the play of the ball.
Worcester went further ahead in the 24th minute when Whitehouse scored a second try, brushing aside several tackles and scoring under the post.
His conversion was successful and Worcester looked to be in total control.
A superb converted try from Tommy McCollin seven minutes from the whistle brought Bedford back into the game.
Worcester were caught sleeping when Chris Baker scored a second converted try for Bedford with the last move of the half.
Worcester took control of the game with two converted tries in a six minute second half spell.
The first from Helmer and a second four minutes later when Danny Badham ran 70 metres to score.
Worcester finished comfortable winners but they will be concerned by the lapse of concentration that allowed Bedford to score two tries in the first half.
Saints know that they will have to perform better if they wish to take the points next week when they face a difficult away trip to Oxford Cavaliers. The match kicks off at 2.30pm at Oxford Rugby Union Club.
