I WAS horrified and upset to read in last week's Advert-iser/Messenger that the New Song Community Church has applied for planning permission to build several homes on the site of the Ebenezor Chapel, in Sidemoor, Bromsgrove.
Although it says at present it plans to do nothing, its scheme has already been passed by Bromsgrove District Council.
This building was originally started in the early 1800s by people who had little or no money.
It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to build.
Later, in the early 1900s, people were encouraged to buy a brick with their name etched on it to complete the building. These bricks can be seen on the wall facing the chapel car park.
This building should be made a listed building and left as a monument to the people of Sidemoor who were involved in its creation.
