WORCESTER Rugby Club have fought off interest from Super League giants Leeds and Halifax to clinch the signature of Scott Barrow.
The 20-year-old, who was out of contract after the season ended, will sign a new deal with the Sixways club as Worcester prepare another promotion bid.
It is another boost for Worcester who have kept hold of the majority of their star players despite missing out on promotion to the Zurich Premiership.
Barrow joins Sateki Tuipulotu and Dave Sims as the latest players to pledge their futures to the club.
Barrow said: "I wanted to make sure that most of the players, such as Teki (Tuipulotu), were staying before I signed but I never wanted to leave. I didn't want there to be a mass exodus of players in the summer so I am pleased that many will be there next season.
"There was interest from Leeds and Halifax but I wanted to carry on my career in Union and get into the Premiership with Worcester."
