WHILE understanding the desperate urge of Worcester RFC Committee to see the club in the Premier league, I can only deplore the sacking of Adrian Skeggs.
As an occasional visitor to Sixways, I recently watched the home match against Orrell. The first half was a pathetic display by Worcester.
I am reliably informed that Mr Skegg's half-time "chat" to the players was one full of passion and Aussie fire.
The second half showed exactly his effect on the players in that Worcester played magnificently and were a joy to watch.
As a coach, motivation of players is paramount and Adrian Skeggs could certainly deliver!
Worcester RFC would appear to be the "poisoned chalice"for future coaches as impatience for success seems to have overridden commonsense.
I feel sorry for the incoming coach, whether it be Ben Clarke or another high profile name as the policy of desperation rules the day.
Worcester were fairly and squarely beaten to the Championship by a superior unit in Leeds RFC and can have no complaints.
As a disabled visitor, I can only applaud the wonderful hospitality offered by staff, particularly Millie.
I sincerely hope Adrian Skeggs goes on to better things, away from a club that seems to be led by a blinkered committee.
DAVID SIMMS,
Battenhall,
Worcester.
