FOR the first time in history, a team representing Redditch has won its way into the all-England finals of the St John Ambulance Brigade First Aid competitions.
In the regional finals of the Dewar Shield - a national trophy for which teams from all over the country compete - the Redditch team, representing the county of Worcestershire, defeated teams from Warwickshire, the city of Birmingham, Staffordshire, Shropshire and Herefordshire.
The regional finals took place at Halesowen on Saturday and Redditch scored a total of 305 points - 20-and-a-half points better than their nearest rivals, Warwickshire, who scored 284-and-a-half.
The Redditch team also have two other cups to their credit.
It will be the first time Worcestershire has ever been represented in the national finals, which are to be held in London on July 20.
