SIX vehicles belonging to a Bromsgrove taxi firm were damaged when a spark from a backfiring car set a workshop alight.
The car responsible for igniting combustible materials in the timber and corrugate iron building belonging to Clearway, of Meadow Road, Catshill, was driven to safety, but was slightly damaged.
A Rolls Royce was also hastily moved away from the flames.
Station officer Clive Allen, based at the Windsor Street fire station, in Bromsgrove, said two vehicles were severely damaged and three slightly less so.
The building was destroyed.
Bromsgrove firefighters were joined by colleagues from Redditch to tackle the blaze which happened at 11.15am yesterday.
Just before the incident firefighters were called to a blazing Citroen 2 CV on the M5 between Lydiate Ash and Rashwood.
