EARLY on Saturday, May 12, members were collected by coach for the first outing of the summer - a weekend event beginning with a journey to Lincoln.
The afternoon was spent looking around the cathedral, the castle and the many medieval buildings in the town.
The Seacroft Hotel at Skegness, right on the sea front, was booked for dinner and an overnight stay.
On Sunday morning, members travelled to Boston to discover that the Boston Stump is totally misnamed.
Then, in the afternoon, the immaculately preserved Belton House near Grantham provided a host of interests, including state rooms, Norman chapel, restaurant, gardens with orangery and parkland, although members declined from sampling the huge adventure playground.
A mini heatwave happily coincided with a weekend in which there was never a dull moment.
The next trip will be on June 9 to Stourport, Redstone, Areley Kings and Wilden.
New members are welcome and details can be obtained from the secretary on 541317.
