A WEEK of fundraising events is planned for a Bromsgrove hospice and volunteers are urgently needed to ensure it is a success.
Wear Yellow Week, which starts on June 18, is a major appeal for funds for the Primrose Hospice and Cancer Help Centre.
It forms part of a national appeal to support hospices throughout the country.
All proceeds from events during the week will go towards helping the hospice to continue its work offering advice and support to people with cancer and their families.
The 185 independent hospices across the country need to raise £170m a year to provide free care for patients.
Highlight of the events in Bromsgrove is the Midsummer Bash, an evening of fun on Friday June 22 in a marquee in the grounds of the Finstall-based St Godwald's Road hospice.
Laughs from comedian Malcolm Stent and rock and roll tunes from Hanbury-based band The Reflections are on offer, as well as a summer buffet.
There will also be a Primrose stall at the town's historic Elizabethan Market on June 23 with delicious home-baking to sample.
On the same day, a sponsored balloon race in the hospice grounds will ensure the fundraising gets off to a flying start.
Manning a promotional stand in the town centre, serving food at the Midsummer Bash, selling raffle tickets are just some of the jobs for volunteers.
