ON behalf of Imperial Cancer Research Fund I would like to thank the Journal for the support you have given to Stratford Race for Life. Your continued help in promoting the event in and around Stratford is greatly appreciated.
We had over 1500 women taking part in the event on Sunday, May 20, 2001, a record year for raceforlife in Stratford. We hope to have raised over £65,000 in sponsorship from the event.
All of the money raised from raceforlife funds Imperial Cancer Research Fund's pioneering research into cancers which affect women; bringing hope to the 120,000 women diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year. It is hoped that we will raise a record £6.5 million from the 71 races taking place around the UK this summer.
Many thanks again for your support. I look forward to talking to you in the autumn about next year's event.
KATE SARJENT, National Events Executive.
