OUR local Liberal Democrats should not perhaps be so jubilant about their
attempt to increase support for Health Concern by standing down.
Far from basking in reflected glory from Dr Taylor for the next four or five years they are much more likely to find themselves thrown into political obscurity.
I have had a long history of voting for and supporting the Liberal Democrats both locally and nationally and certainly envisaged the possibility of voting for them locally in the future. Not any more.
I was genuinely shocked at their decision to stand down.
My wife and I are now in the process of applying to join the Labour Party and look forward to being active and enthusiastic supporters.
If we get a chance to upset Liberal Democrats in the future( should they ever again stand for anything) we will enjoy the opportunity.
Their action has converted us overnight from passive observers to committed activists in the Labour cause. We will never trust the Lib Dems again.
