DROITWICH golfer, John Bickerton, will be aiming to boost his Ryder Cup points tally at the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth tomorrow.
The European Tour's flagship event carries total prize money of £1,976,531 with the winner picking up nearly £330,000.
Bickerton, who is currently lying 23rd in the Ryder Cup points table with £142,042, is currently in good form after picking up nearly £30,000 for a joint tenth place finish at last week's Deutsche Bank Open in Heidelberg.
Hereford's David Park is also on the field and his first round tee time was 9.45am, 45 minutes before Bickerton's.
All eyes will be on Colin Montgomerie as he seeks to create another extravagant piece of Volvo PGA history by bidding to become the first player to win the event for a fourth consecutive year.
Montgomerie won £200,000 in 1998, then £216,678 in 1999 and then £250,000 last May when Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood and Andrew Coltart were joint second three strokes back.
