POLICE in Kidderminster have gone "back to their roots" with the opening of a new office for beat bobbies in the town this week.
The town hall buildings in Vicar Street used to house the town's main police station before officers moved to larger premises in Habberley Road. At the new town hall offices - back from left PC Paul Green and Deputy Chief Constable Peter Neyroud. Front , PC Tim Bower and PC Gary Burns.
Town centre beat officer PC Tim Bower said: "The purpose of the town hall room will be to provide an informal setting where people can come and chat when we have some free time between attending incidents."
He said that officers would be able to answer requests for information and give crime prevention advice.
But he added the Habberley Road station would continue to be the place for people to report emergencies and crime and produce documents.
