May 25, 1901

Evesham: Albert Baylis, a labourer from Boat Lane, Evesham, was charged with being drunk and incapable in Bewdley Street. Defendant pleaded guilty. P.S Yarnold said that about 11.30 with P.C Poulson he found the defendant lying on the ground in Bewdley Street. He and P.C Rogers and Poulson had to carry him to the station on a stretcher. Fined 5s and 4s expenses or seven days.

May 29, 1926

Pershore: Sarah Nicholls of Pensham Hill Cottages was summoned for being drunk and disorderly on May 8. The defendant was seen on Pershore bridges, being assisted home by three other women. She was seen to be very drunk and making use of most offensive language, which appeared to be addressed at her husband. Complaints were made when the defendant passed through Bridge Street. She said she was very sorry and pointed out she had never before been in a police court. She was fined 10s.

May 26, 1951

EVESHAM: Evesham Rural District Council is applying to the Midlands Electricity Board for a supply of electricity to be taken to council houses at Middlesex, Pebworth. The housing committee reported at Monday's meeting of the council, that a petition had been received from occupiers of 15 houses asking for electricity.

May 27, 1976

Harvington: More than 450 people have signed a petition at Harvington saying that they feel it is "imperative" a playing field should be provided for the village "as soon as possible." Mrs Muriel Allvey raised the matter at the annual parish council meeting. Col Tooby added that he felt the only way to get action was to do what they did with Harvington bypass- form a small group of active people who were willing to fight day after day to get what was needed.
