IN Saturday's Worcester League fixtures with Claverly both Birlingham sides were victorious.
In the first team clash Claverly scored 134 but 69 from Andy Howarth helped steer Birlingham to a three-wicket win.
The second team scored 192-7 at Claverley. John Sturt (38), Mark Boskett (26) and a maiden fifty for 15-year-old Ollie Bendall in only his third league game, were the main contributors.
The latter batted with common sense and maturity and deserved to reach his milestone.
Claverly replied with 147 all out after tea and they were never in with a chance as Brian How-arth (4-78) and John Webb, who conceded a mere three runs in ten overs, kept tabs on the hosts.
Giles Herbert chipped in with 3-31, while Mark Boskett took three fine catches.
