EMBROIDERERS' GUILD: The May 9 meeting of the Stour Valley Embroiderers' Guild had the pleasure of welcoming back Louise Burn to talk about 'Precious Packages'. As each one of the amazing collection of boxes was opened, some stunning piece of embroidery emerged - most of them three dimensional items. From insects to fish, from playing cards to music (complete with conductors), and many many more. Each time we thought we had reached the best, another one popped out! It was truly a magical afternoon and members thoroughly enjoyed it. Our exhibition of members' work during the weekend of May 11 to 14 was a great success and the work on show was greatly admired both for the talents and skills displayed, and the variety of exhibits. Quilts, canvaswork pictures, goldwork pictures, samplers, boxes, stool, kneeler to name but a few. Many thanks to all those who came along to support us.
