GARDENING CLUB: A large number of members turned up at the Memorial Hall on April 25, to learn all about the care and protection of the clematis. With the magnificent slides of the most beautiful clematis, members thought, for a moment that they would be taking away a free sample to add to their list. Nick Hall was thanked by the chairman Colin Hill for a very informative talk.
A splendid evening was had by all. A fund-raising evening was held yesterday (Wednesday) at the Memorial Hall, when there were, among other things, a plant stall, a raffle and lots more. With June 27 being a visit to the presidents garden, Mr Freddie Potters, Saintbury, the club hopes to see scores of people. Certainly not a garden to be missed.
