BROADWAY junior James Neale scaled new heights with a cracking round of 69, three under par to lead the to eight qualifiers into the knockout stage of the Founders Cup.
Neale's net 64 round left Mick Sandalls two shots adrift in second with Richard Cox in third.
Other qualifiers were Mike Humpston, Mark Stedman, Mike Everitt, Russ Ralph and five-handicapper Les Carter, who trundled round in 75.
Last year's runner-up, Steve Gilks, looked set to qualify with ease but a disastrous final hole proved costly.
After a promising opening 6-0 thrashing of Cleeve Cloud in the North Gloucestershire Four-somes League, Broadway cras-hed to a 4-2 defeat at Stin- chcombe Hill.
Lady members played their qualifying round for the county Kit Kat competition in conjunction with a club stableford competition.
The six qualifiers to play at Naunton Downs were: Pam Hooper 38pts, Julia Ward 37, Jenny Bruton 37, Jenny Foxon 37, Juliet Bourne 37, Sue Carter 36.
Overall winner Jenny Holt (39pts)opted not to enter.
