Brintons factory in Corporation Street provided employment for hundreds of carpet workers. Corporation Street, 1969
The legendary whistle from the Brintons "Bull" which marked the start each working day at the carpet firm for more than 115 years was heard for the last time in March 1999.
Ironically, moments after the bull sounded for the last time developers moved in to the Corporation Street building as part of the preparation for the multi-million pound KTC (Kidderminster Town Centre) development.
Demolition work commenced on the factory site in April 2000, pictured below and is set for completion by Christmas 2002.
In addition to the demolition work the River Stour will also be rerouted. January 2001 January 2001 January 2001
As work continues on this site we will publish further pictures.
