PERSHORE has a new carnival princess for the event, which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday and has a celebration of cinema theme.
Bethan Walley, aged 12, was selected from more than a dozen candidates. She attends Abbey Park School and likes singing, writing stories and using the internet.
Her two attendants are also pupils at the school. Eleanor Mather, 10, likes sport, music and cooking. Peaches Taylor, 11, likes running and going out with her friends. All three live in Pershore.
Carnival events get underway with a dog show in Abbey Park at 9.30am.
Awards will be presented for floats at 12.45pm, before the procession sets off at 1pm from Broad Street, led by Pershore Carnival Jazz Band, in the style of a New Orleans marching band.
Afternoon carnival activities will be opened by the mayor at 2pm, and carnival princess Bethan, accompanied by the Town Crier, will tour the area.
