YOU would think that spending two weeks in the Alps with just a lake in which to wash your clothes would be quite a big worry for Pershore-based guide leader Ruth Pawsey.
Yet she is more worried about carrying the axe and saw she will need for orienteering through customs when she departs for France next month.
Ruth, aged 19, of Station Road, has been chosen as an assistant guide leader for a peace project to celebrate the 40th anniversary of M'elan D'avenir, the headquarters for the guiding association in France.
She will be travelling on June 14 with another leader and six girls who have also been chosen.
A guide leader for a unit in Inkberrow, Ruth needs to raise £650 and admits she "has not been having a lot of success", but hopes a recent quiz night should help. If you can assist her, contact Ruth on 01386 552428.
