OFFENHAM shooter, Mark Hampton, proved himself top of the shots at the English Open Double Rise Championships at Nottingham.
The 16-year-old scored 91/223 points at the first of this season's major events to land first place in the junior category and fifth spot overall in a strong field of trap shooters.

The teenager started shooting as 12-year-old at his father's club at Throckmorton, from where he joined Childswickham Gun Club and he was soon notching up some top scores.
His eye for the target soon caught the attention of the Hereford and Worcester selectors and he rewarded them on his county debut with a 100/100 shoot at his first registered down the line competition.
