EVESHAM Wheelers have been successful in recent Time Trial disciplines.
In the Welsh Magic Dragon series third event ten-mile Time Trial, Brian Newton recorded 22.28 to win Vets standard event ahead of Ken Haynes (22.41) and Rudi Ligthert (24.25).
The trio also broke the club's own team of three record by two minutes. Arja Scarsbrook clocked 25.15.
In the Abertillery RC 25-mile event, Newton recorded a best of the season with a time of 56.27.
Haynes and Martin Hall represented the club in the Warwick RC ten-mile event at Wythall recording excellent times of 23.09 and 22.41 respectively.
In the Didcot Phoenix CC 25 based on the A 34, Ligthert recorded 61.09 and Adrian Main improved his personal best to 67.01.
Scarsbrook recorded her best performance this season for a ten-mile Time Trial in the VTTA(Wessex) event near Andover with 24.54. Newton recorded 21.57 in the same event.
The following morning in the Sotonia CC 25-mile TT, Newton recorded 59.27 on a hard rolling course, again in the Andover area.
Stuart Summers, Andy Dolphin and Steve McGrath travelled to Thetford for the National Mountain Bike Championships.
On a fast single track course riddled with pot holes, McGrath was well positioned in the first ten when, with a lap and a quarter to run, his bike couldn't take any more and failed with a sheared chain. Summers was placed 27th and Dolphin 39th.
In the Wyre Forest 57K road race, Paul Stockdale gained his best placing for the season with a six place finish.
Phil Pollard also started but was unfortunate to puncture on the first lap. The event was won by Cheltenham's Simon Dyer.
In Sunday's bright sunshine the weekly club run was supported by 26 members.
Brian Lee led the race training group through Sedgeberrow, Gretton, Gotherington, Treding-ton, Tirley, Corse Lawn, Upton on Severn, Ryall and taking coffee at Ripple where they met the second group which was led by Tony Grove.
This Sunday's club outing is an all day run with a coffee stop at Shennington and lunch at Braunston near Daventry.
