A REGULAR winner over hurdles, the Robin Dickin trained Shampooed gained a first win over the larger obstacles in a thrilling finish to the Guide Friday Novices Steeple Chase at Stratford last Friday.
The seven-year-old mare only made her chasing debut earlier this month but she led from the front to give the Warwick Members Racing Club syndicate another success.
There was disappointment in the opener for Broom trainer Tony Carroll when Bisquet-de-Bouche found the three miles, three furlongs trip a little too excessive in finishing a gallant fifth behind course winner Kilgal.
Carroll was smiling at Warwick 24 hours later when 50/1 shot Barons Pharoah won the Hilton Metropole National Hunt Maiden Hurdle.
The next meeting at Luddington Road is over the weekend of June 1 and 2 featuring the Intrum Justitia Cup on Saturday.
