THE owners of Brockencote Hall Hotel in Chaddesley Corbett are celebrating after commis chef Sylvain Bouget-Lavigne was named Midland Young Chef of the Year.
Mr Bouget-Lavigne was presented with his award at the Midland Association of Restaurants, Caterers and Hotels annual awards ceremony and dinner at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
"We're delighted for Sylvain who is a very talented young man," said Joseph Petitjean, who runs Brockencote Hall Hotel with his wife Alison.
"It's well deserved recognition for a young chef who will go far in the years ahead."
He added that although the hotel was accustomed to awards, they were never blas about them.
"Every one means more than the one before because it means we're not only maintaining our reputation for quality accommodation and cuisine, but building on it, month by month."
Brockencote Hall Hotel is situated on the A448 between Bromsgrove and Kidderminster.
