I am the serving county councillor for Habberley and Blakebrook, being first elected in 1989.
I am seeking a further four-year term of office as a Labour Party member of Worcestershire County Council.
I am proud to have served as Worcester-shire County Council chairman 1999-2000. It was a great honour.
I am currently chairman of the county planning committee and voted to refuse planning permission for the Foley Park incinerator.
At County Hall, Labour has improved education standards, introduced nursery classes and operated a programme of school buildings improvement.
We have always tried to defend and safeguard social services, the green belt, trading standards, libraries, country parks and our rural farms and property holdings.
Labour has introduced well-considered policies on the environment and economic development.
I have also served as chairman of Wyre Forest District Council, and mayor of Kidderminster, and always actively supported the campaign to retain Kidderminster's General Hospital status.
